Update: A big congratulations to CH, who entered via the Facebook giveaway page! I will be contacting you shortly so that you can claim your prize!
Yesterday, I wrote about the new Time to Call™ app from Vonage. This free-to-download app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch allows you to make calls of up to 15 minutes to landlines and mobile phones in over 190 countries, while billing your existing iTunes account with no monthly charges or commitments.
In an effort to promote the app, Vonage is sponsoring an iPad 2 Giveaway with 75 websites in participation, EACH site giving away a separate iPad 2! Can we say fan-freakin-tastic?!! Be sure to check out http://www.callsfromsmartphone.com/ for the full list of participating sites, because you can enter all of them to increase your chances of winning (provided that you abide by each site’s respective rules, of course).
I was very surprised, humbled, and excited to have been asked to participate in this giveaway — not only because this kind of stuff is right up my alley, but because this is the biggest giveaway I have hosted on this blog, and I knew that you, my readers, would love it too. 🙂
Now, on to the good stuff!
The winner of the Geek in Heels iPad 2 Giveaway will receive: one (1) iTunes gift card in the amount of $15 USD for use with his/her device; and one (1) Apple gift card in the amount of $700 USD for the purchase of an Apple iPad 2, 32GB WiFi. (If there is no access to Apple in the country from which the winner would like to purchase the iPad 2, a cash-equivalent prize will be distributed via PayPal.)
That’s $715 worth of Apple cash!!! 😯
Now, this giveaway will run slightly differently from my previous giveaways, so please read carefully below…
Each reader is eligible for up to three entries via the following methods (each method will grant a separate entry):
- Leave a comment to this post about who and where you would like to call internationally with the Vonage Time to Call app.
- If you haven’t done so already, go to the Geek in Heels Facebook Page and “Like” the page. Then click on the iPad 2 Giveaway link (located right under the profile picture, or just use this link) to enter the sweepstakes.
- If you haven’t done so already, follow @geekinheels on Twitter and tweet exactly the following: I just entered for a chance to win an iPad2 via @vonage and @geekinheels at http://bit.ly/q42hcW and you can too! #timetocall
There is no need to leave extra comments here if you enter via Facebook or Twitter. 😉 (The extra comments will get deleted, anyway.)
You can increase your chances of winning by using all three methods of entry. There is only one entry allowed per person, per method (strictly enforced with a paddle!) and any additional entries will be void.
For all the rules, go to this link.
The giveaway begins as soon as this entry is published — August 13, 2011 @ 12:00am EDT — and will run until August 17, 2011 @ 11:59pm EDT. The winner will be announced here on August 18 and will also be notified by email (so please use a valid email when entering so that I can contact you if you win!) or via a Twititer DM.
Good luck, and don’t forget to check out http://www.callsfromsmartphone.com/ — with new content posted as the list of participating websites get updated — for more chances to win!
I would love to use this app while traveling internationally! We’re hoping to go outside the U.S. for our upcoming honeymoon and it would be useful to have an ipad for keeping in touch while we’re away 🙂
I would call a friend who moved to Taiwan!
I will use it to call my loved ones living abroad =)
I would like to call my relatives in the United States and France!
My brother is in the Navy. I would use the app to call him while he is overseas
I would call my family in Italy,
I’d call my cousin in Japan!
I’d call home which will hopefully mean I am traveling
When my neighbors are too noisy, I’ll call them to ask them to shut up. Will my number show up?
I’d call my high-school exchange “sister” in Germany. She loves to talk by phone, but I can never relax during the calls ’cause I’m too paranoid about how much they cost!
I would give the call to a very dear friend whose parents and brother are in Ireland. She rarely gets to talk with them, so this would be a real treat for her. Alternatively, I would give the call away to a service wife whose husband is deployed out of the country.
I would love to call my family and friends back in Lithuania, where I was born, using the Vonage Time To Call app! 🙂 I haven’t been able to go back and visit for years and miss hearing the voices of some people I hold near and dear.
I would call my friend Tess who is visiting her family in Australia for the summer.
I would LOVE to use the Vonage Time to Call App to call my friend Tanja in Germany! We have been “pen palling” for awhile, I’ve never met her but would to actually hear her voice!
I would call my “sister” in the Philippines. My family hosted her as a foreign exchange student a couple years ago and we all would love to talk to her.
I would call one of my best friends from my study abroad, who is currently living in Denmark.
I’d give the call to my husband to call friends in Thailand, where he lived for two years.
I would call my father who lives in Denmark half the year! Woohoo 😉
I would really like to call my girlfriend who is staying in Zimbabwe at the moment =)
I would call some good friends who live in Vancouver, BC (who aren’t on my calling plan).
I’d call my grandfather to tell I’m having a BOY!!!
I would use it to call my sister who I miss TERRIBLY while she is studying abroad in Cyprus!!
I’d like to give my call to a member of our armed forces.
I would love to call overseas to Taiwan to talk to my Chinese grandmother-in-law – she’s 90+ years old and her health has been failing for years. I’d love to talk to her while she can still understand me.
I would like to win this IPAD!!! XD
I would like to call my parents when they’re travelling in China
My family is all over the place. My parents are in Malaysia, my sister is in the Philippines, one of my brother is in the UK and the other one is in the Netherlands. I would call them every weekend and have us all conference. My mom would always remind us to call them once in a while because they miss us so much, and due to our busy schedules, we sometimes forget. Also, I will be on an international flight with my 1 year old son in November. By myself! An iPad 2 will really help entertain my 1 year old and stop him from screaming and running all over the place. Please give it to me–for the good of mankind.
I would call my Mom, back home in France.
call my good friends that I haven’t seen in a while.
I’d call my brother, who just took a job in Germany!
